Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Bernie Bouncer iOS app, operated by Simon Gneuss, Birkenweg 6, 09569 Oederan, Germany ("we"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them.

License

Use of the app is licensed, not sold, under Apple's standardLicensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). Where these terms go beyond the standard EULA, these terms apply in addition. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its content.

What the app does

Bernie Bouncer helps you limit your own use of distracting apps. It uses Apple's Screen Time technology to block apps you select, and an AI bouncer character you can negotiate with for temporary, timed access. The app is a self-management tool. It is not a medical, therapeutic, or parental-surveillance product, and we do not guarantee any particular change in your screen-time behavior. The AI bouncer's replies are generated automatically and are part of the app's entertainment character.

Subscriptions and trial

• Bernie Bouncer Pro is an auto-renewable yearly subscription purchased through your Apple account.
• New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. After the trial, the yearly price shown in the app is charged unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
• The subscription renews automatically for successive yearly periods unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• You can manage and cancel the subscription in your Apple account settings (Settings, your name, Subscriptions) at any time.
• Payment is processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms; you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Prices may change for future renewal periods; Apple will notify you in advance as required, and you can cancel before the change takes effect.

Accounts

Using the app requires signing in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for activity under your account. You can delete your account at any time inside the app (Profile, Delete account), which permanently removes your data from our backend as described in theprivacy policy.

Fair use

• Do not attempt to abuse, reverse engineer, or disrupt the service, including the AI negotiation endpoint.
• Do not use the app to violate any law or the rights of others.
• Do not submit unlawful or abusive content in conversations with the bouncer.

We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Features that depend on servers (sign-in, AI negotiation, sync) may be unavailable at times. We may improve, change, or discontinue features. The on-device blocking relies on Apple's Screen Time frameworks and iOS permissions you grant; if you revoke those permissions, blocking stops working.

Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body, or health. For simple negligence we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. Liability under the German Product Liability Act remains unaffected.

Governing law

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
