The shield is not appearing on my blocked apps.+
Make sure you granted Screen Time permission: iOS Settings, Screen Time, and check that Bernie Bouncer is allowed. Inside the app, open your rule and confirm it is enabled. A device restart resolves most remaining cases.
How do I get past the shield when I really need an app?+
Tap Negotiate on the shield, come back to Bernie Bouncer, and make your case in the chat. If the doorman grants you a pass, the app unlocks for the agreed minutes and locks itself again afterwards.
How do I cancel my subscription or trial?+
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Open iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Bernie Bouncer and tap Cancel. Cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends means you will not be charged.
How do I get a refund?+
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple account, and select the purchase.
How do I delete my account and data?+
In the app, open Profile and choose Delete account. This permanently removes your account, onboarding answers, and attempt history from our backend. Deleting the app afterwards removes all local data too.
Does Bernie Bouncer see which apps I use?+
No. App blocking runs on-device through Apple’s Screen Time frameworks, which give the app opaque tokens instead of app names. Your usage data never reaches our servers. Details are in the privacy policy.
Do I need an account?+
Yes, signing in with Apple or Google is required to use the app. Sign in with Apple lets you hide your real email address, and you can delete the account at any time in the app.
